My jorney trough the world of Elecraft transceivers continoues. After a year or so with KX3 the chance to swap it for K2 appeared and I couldn’t resist. Mostly because K2 was the first of Elecraft radios I spotted in the past. I was impressed with its sound as well as simplicity followed by great performance of the receiver. Well, after more than a year of having great fun with little Elecraft K1 another little radio showed up. After searching for K2 model for a couple of months i gave up and decided to purchase used KX3. Here is very first impression after a couple of weeks of using it.
Short impression after using Elecraft K1 for a couple of days. What a great receiver! That was astonishing how quiet this little rig is. After using noisy FT 1000 MP for last two years it was like a breathe of fresh air to hear week signals being readable just above a noise.
After a couple of years of using Bencher BY 2 chrome paddle I’ve decided to try something new. But because I’ve learned to use hard keys i was affraid of switching to something soft. I simply used to bang Bencher paddle in a way that delicate key wouldn’t stand for long. Some of my friends tried to show me how to use it properly but i couldn’t adjust it and as a result i made a lot of mistakes.
